Organized network rack and cable-testing equipment in a Caribbean business office

Structured cabling lifecycle services / British Virgin Islands

Cabling Maintenance,
Moves, Adds & Changes

Keep your network organized as your business evolves. MicroAntix maintains copper and fiber infrastructure, relocates connections, installs additional outlets and manages cabling changes with a clear plan, careful testing and updated records.

Keep the connection. Control the change.

Your workplace changes.
Your cabling should keep up.

A desk move, a new access point or a room refurbishment can affect far more than one outlet. Untracked patching and temporary extensions make faults harder to locate and future upgrades more disruptive.

MicroAntix provides cabling maintenance and moves, adds and changes for offices, resorts, villas, schools, clinics and multi-building properties throughout the British Virgin Islands. We trace the existing connection, identify its dependencies and agree the work before touching a live service.

From a single workstation relocation to a phased department move, the objective is a serviceable installation with known connections, appropriate test evidence and documentation your support team can use.

One service. Four practical workstreams.

Support for every stage of your cabling system.

Each visit is scoped around your existing infrastructure, business priorities and access arrangements. New installation, repairs and active-equipment changes are clearly identified in the proposal.

Maintenance

Find developing physical-layer problems before they become recurring support calls. We inspect accessible cabling, terminations and patching, then document defects and agree the appropriate corrective work.

  • Inspect cable support, bend radius, connector condition and patch-panel organization.
  • Trace intermittent links and identify damaged leads or suspect terminations.
  • Clean and inspect accessible fiber connectors using appropriate procedures; agree copper or fiber testing.

Moves

Relocate connectivity in a controlled sequence when people, equipment or departments move. We check the destination, plan the cutover and verify the connections needed to resume work.

  • Relocate or repatch workstation, printer, IP phone and other network connections.
  • Coordinate desk layouts, room readiness, access and service interruptions.
  • Record original and new outlet, patch-panel and switch-port associations.

Adds

Extend a documented cabling system when your business needs more connections. We assess pathways and capacity so additions are appropriate for the environment rather than improvised extensions.

  • Install additional data outlets and copper or fiber links within the agreed design.
  • Provide connections for access points, cameras, meeting rooms and building devices.
  • Check containment, spare ports, link distances and relevant equipment dependencies.

Changes

Modify patching and connection arrangements as your operating requirements change. Cabling work is coordinated with your IT team so physical changes and network configuration remain aligned.

  • Reorganize patching, replace unsuitable leads and correct inconsistent labels.
  • Support rack changes, equipment refreshes and staged infrastructure upgrades.
  • Identify redundant cabling for approved removal and update the connection records.

A controlled change from start to finish

Plan the interruption.
Verify the reconnection.

Changes to live infrastructure need agreed responsibility and a workable maintenance window. We coordinate the physical work with the people who own the affected services.

01 / Assess

Identify what is connected

Review the request, trace affected outlets, confirm available capacity and note the users or systems that could be interrupted.

02 / Prepare

Agree the sequence

Confirm access, materials, change approval, outage expectations and a practical rollback approach before the work begins.

03 / Execute

Make the planned change

Complete the agreed cabling and patching work, protect adjacent services and escalate unexpected conditions before expanding the scope.

04 / Verify

Test and hand over

Check the affected links against the agreed test scope, confirm reconnection with the client and issue updated labels and change records.

Practical support arrangements

From a single move to a maintained estate.

One-off moves and repairs

Defined work for an office move, new outlet, damaged connection or patching change. We agree the location, expected outcome and access needs before scheduling.

Planned maintenance visits

A scheduled review of selected cabinets, links and records, with a defect list and recommendations. Visit frequency and included remediation are set out in your agreement.

Phased property improvements

Coordinated changes across guest rooms, floors or buildings, sequenced around occupancy, operational priorities and your wider refurbishment or technology programme.

A clear close-out: Depending on the agreed scope, handover can include a completed change log, outlet and patching updates, test results, before-and-after photographs and outstanding recommendations. Response times, out-of-hours attendance and spare materials are agreed separately.

Know what is included

Testing matched to the work, not a blanket promise.

Continuity checks, link verification and formal cable certification are different activities. We specify the test method and acceptance criteria appropriate to the link and the work being commissioned.

Copper category, fiber type, connector condition, pathway access and existing installation quality influence the recommended approach. A cabling change does not automatically include a full network redesign.

Before we attend, tell us:

  • The property, rooms and approximate number of connections affected.
  • Which devices and business services depend on those connections.
  • Your preferred maintenance window and any occupancy or access restrictions.
  • Whether drawings, test reports and current port schedules are available.

Electrical work, fire-stopping, specialist building works and active network configuration are coordinated with the appropriate qualified parties and included only where expressly agreed.

Questions before a change

Cabling maintenance FAQs.

Can you maintain cabling installed by another contractor?

Yes. We first assess accessible infrastructure, available documentation and any existing warranty conditions. Findings and limitations are recorded before corrective work is proposed.

Can you work while our office or hotel remains open?

Work can be phased around operations where practical. Some connections may still need to be taken offline; we agree affected areas, timing and communication before the change. Zero interruption cannot be assumed.

Do you support both copper and fiber connections?

Yes. The scope can include copper data cabling and fiber links, subject to the installed cable type, condition and access. Required testing, replacement components and connector work are identified during planning.

Will our labels and drawings be updated?

Records for the connections changed can be included in the handover. Where the wider network is undocumented, a separate infrastructure audit can establish a more complete baseline.

Is this the same as a server-room cleanup?

Not quite. Cleanup focuses on organization and presentation within a room or rack. This service also covers operational moves, additional outlets, fault investigation and controlled changes across the property.

How is the work priced?

Pricing depends on the number and type of links, available pathways, testing requirements, island location, access hours and documentation needed. Contact us with your proposed change for a scoped quotation.
