Connected building access / BVI

UniFi Door Access, Intercom & Elevator Access

Give the right people access to the right places. MicroAntix connects entrances, visitor communication and floor permissions in a coordinated UniFi access environment.

One building. Clear permissions.

Access designed around the way your property operates.

A secure entrance should also be straightforward to use. We start with occupancy, opening hours, door conditions and management responsibilities, then specify readers, hubs, power, cabling and policies that fit the building. The result is a documented system with clear ownership, rather than a collection of disconnected devices.

Door access

Manage staff and occupant entry with compatible readers, cards, fobs, PINs or supported mobile credentials. We configure groups, schedules and access exceptions so permissions reflect actual roles.

  • Door and lock compatibility assessment
  • Reader, hub, PoE and structured cabling installation
  • User enrolment, credential removal and administrator roles

Intercom & visitor entry

Connect the arrival point to the people who authorize entry. Video and two-way audio support visitor verification, while agreed call destinations and release permissions make reception responsibilities clear.

  • Visitor call routing and supported answering devices
  • Remote release permissions and tenant coordination
  • Camera position, audio checks and network readiness

Elevator access

Restrict authorized floor selection for compatible installations. We work with the elevator contractor to map floors, control interfaces and access groups without interfering with the elevator safety system.

  • Floor and occupant permission mapping
  • Compatible controller interface planning
  • Commissioning with the elevator specialist

The visitor journey

From arrival to the authorized destination.

  1. 01

    Arrive

The visitor reaches a clearly positioned intercom or controlled entrance. We consider signage, approach, lighting and accessibility so the equipment is practical in everyday use.

  2. 02

    Verify

An authorized team member answers and confirms the visit. Call routing and backup contacts are agreed so a missed call does not leave the process undefined.

  3. 03

    Release

The appropriate entrance is released under the agreed policy. Staff credentials and visitor release rights are separated, with administrators limited to necessary privileges.

  4. 04

    Review

Authorized staff can review supported system events and maintain permissions. Logs support investigation, but do not by themselves prove a person physically passed through a door or visited a floor.

Designed, installed, handed over

The infrastructure behind a reliable entrance.

We survey cable routes, network capacity, equipment locations and power availability before installation. Door hardware, request-to-exit devices, emergency interfaces and mechanical adjustments are coordinated with the appropriate specialists. Exterior locations receive particular attention to exposure, mounting and cable protection.

  • Documented entrance schedule, equipment list and permission matrix
  • Secure management access, software configuration and supported integrations
  • Functional testing for normal access, denied access and agreed outage conditions
  • Administrator training, configuration records and maintenance recommendations

Different spaces, different rules

A permission model that fits your users.

Keep business areas appropriately separated.

Professional offices may need different access for reception, staff areas, communications rooms and out-of-hours contractors. We map these needs before creating groups and recurring schedules.

  • Joiner, mover and leaver procedures
  • Time-limited contractor access where supported
  • Separate day-to-day administration from system ownership

Make property access manageable.

Hotels, villas, apartments and managed residences need coordinated entry for guests, residents, housekeeping, maintenance and management. We assess whether the proposed access platform fits the existing guest or property workflow.

  • Shared entrances and staff-only areas
  • Visitor answering and property management responsibilities
  • Compatibility review before promising property-system integration

Keep local responsibility with centralized visibility.

For organizations with several premises, we plan site naming, administrator roles and remote management around connectivity and operational ownership. A consistent policy does not mean every building must use identical rules.

  • Site-specific schedules and permissions
  • Documented remote access and recovery procedures
  • Planned reviews when occupants or building use change

Ongoing system care

Permissions change. Your access system should keep up.

Our support can include user administration, configuration reviews, software updates, device health checks and troubleshooting of network or hardware issues. We distinguish an access-policy problem from a physical door fault so it reaches the right specialist. Replacement components, site visits and response arrangements are defined in the service agreement.

Ubiquiti UniFi

Specify the right combination, not just a reader.

UniFi Access brings together compatible control hubs, readers, intercoms and management software. We confirm the current hardware and feature combination for each quotation, including any subscriptions, supported credentials and integration requirements. Common questions

Before we begin.

Clear scope, practical expectations and a service designed around your organization.

Can existing doors and locks be retained?

Often, but compatibility must be checked. We inspect door construction, available power, lock type, exit hardware, cabling and the required release behavior before confirming what can remain and what needs replacement.

Can users open doors with a phone?

Supported UniFi readers and configurations can provide mobile credentials, including supported wallet-based options. Hardware, account, subscription and licensing requirements are confirmed for the proposed solution; not every reader supports every credential type.

Can you control access to individual elevator floors?

We can design authorized floor access using compatible UniFi elevator equipment, subject to the elevator controller interface and approval from the elevator contractor. This is coordinated specialist work and does not replace the elevator safety system.

What happens if power or internet service fails?

The design documents local operation, backup power and the behavior of each lock during an outage. Remote features may depend on connectivity. Required emergency release and safe exit arrangements are coordinated with qualified building and life-safety specialists.

Will we be able to manage users ourselves?

Yes. Administrator handover covers agreed user roles, credential changes, schedules and event review. MicroAntix can also provide ongoing administration and maintenance under a defined support agreement.

British Virgin Islands

Local delivery. Connected support.

From a Road Town office to a Virgin Gorda villa or a multi-building hospitality property, access decisions need to reflect who uses the space and when. We plan permissions for employees, residents, guests, contractors and property managers without treating every entrance as the same problem.

MicroAntix coordinates discovery, implementation and ongoing assistance around your operating hours, site access and agreed support arrangements. For multi-island work, travel, equipment availability, connectivity and maintenance windows are addressed in the project plan.
