The physical foundation of your IT

More than somewhere
to put the equipment.

A well-planned rack keeps servers, switches, patch panels and backup power organized, accessible and suitable for the room around them. It also makes routine maintenance and future changes easier to carry out.

MicroAntix assesses the equipment, available space, cooling, power, security and expansion requirements before recommending a cabinet or frame. We install new infrastructure and improve existing rooms across the British Virgin Islands.

Select the right enclosure

Different equipment. Different requirements.

Rack height is only one part of the decision. Usable depth, load, access and airflow matter too.

Floor-standing cabinets

For servers and consolidated network equipment.

A secured, enclosed installation with enough working depth, equipment capacity and access for ongoing service.

  • Equipment dimensions and rail compatibility
  • Front and rear service clearance
  • Door ventilation, side panels and access control

Wall-mounted cabinets

For smaller distribution points and limited floor space.

A compact location for patching and suitable network equipment, selected around the wall construction and equipment load.

  • Mounting surface and load suitability
  • Cable entry and maintenance access
  • Depth, ventilation and expansion allowance

Open-frame racks

For controlled rooms with accessible infrastructure.

An accessible frame for structured patching or suitable equipment where the room provides the required physical protection.

  • Room security and environmental conditions
  • Cable-manager space and equipment support
  • Anchoring, clearances and future additions

Installation & integration

A complete rack environment.

The scope is tailored to the site, from a single wall cabinet to a larger equipment room.

Assessment & layout

We review the current hardware, future capacity, room dimensions and working clearances. The plan defines rack units, equipment positions, cable pathways and maintenance access before installation.

Assembly & secure mounting

Racks and cabinets are assembled, positioned and secured to suit the mounting surface, manufacturer requirements and agreed site conditions. Rails, shelves, doors and panels are checked for practical operation.

Cable organization & identification

Horizontal and vertical managers, trays and suitable routing keep data and power connections organized. Labelling, patch-lead selection and accessible termination points help simplify future changes.

PDU & UPS integration

We plan the placement of power distribution and backup power equipment, review load requirements and route power connections. Electrical supply requirements are coordinated with the responsible electrical contractor.

Airflow & environmental monitoring

Equipment ventilation, blanking panels and room cooling are considered together. The scope can include temperature and humidity monitoring and coordination of specialist cooling requirements.

Physical security

Lockable doors, secure panels and suitable access controls help manage who can reach the equipment. An enclosure is selected for its intended indoor environment rather than assumed to be weatherproof.

Relocation & existing-rack improvements

We assess live connections, document the current arrangement and agree a change plan before equipment is moved. Reorganization can include improved patching, airflow, labels and maintenance access.

Access

Space to inspect, patch and service equipment.

Organization

Routes and identifiers that make sense to the next technician.

Environment

Airflow and monitoring matched to the room.

Capacity

Practical allowance for future equipment.

Installation sequence

Planned before the first device moves.

  1. 01

    Survey & specify

Review the equipment inventory, usable depth, load, room environment and required clearances.

  2. 02

    Prepare the location

Confirm cable routes, mounting conditions, power dependencies and access arrangements.

  3. 03

    Install & integrate

Assemble and secure the enclosure, position equipment and organize the agreed data and power connections.

  4. 04

    Check & document

Review mounting, access, labels and system operation; hand over the agreed layout and support information.

BVI operating conditions

Plan for the location, not just the cabinet.

Heat, humidity, power quality, transport and maintenance access all affect the project. We assess these conditions and coordinate the appropriate measures within the agreed scope.

  • Assess room ventilation and equipment heat loads
  • Confirm mounting requirements and site-specific constraints
  • Plan access for delivery, installation and future maintenance
  • Coordinate specialist electrical, cooling or structural work where required

Rack mounting alone does not make a site hurricane-proof or guarantee uninterrupted operation. Structural protection, environmental controls and continuity measures require a site-specific assessment.

Common questions

Make room for reliable infrastructure.

How do you choose the correct cabinet size?

We review rack-unit requirements, equipment depth and weight, rails, power distribution, cable managers and expansion needs. Door access and front and rear working clearance are considered alongside the cabinet dimensions.

Can you reorganize a live rack?

Yes, with a planned scope. We identify critical connections and equipment, document the current configuration and agree any required shutdown or change window before repatching or relocation.

Do you supply UPS and power distribution equipment?

UPS and PDU selection and integration can form part of the project. We review the intended loads and backup requirements and coordinate any required electrical supply work.

Will a cabinet protect equipment from heat and humidity?

A cabinet is not a substitute for a suitable room environment. We consider ventilation, equipment airflow, cooling and monitoring, and specify the enclosure for the actual conditions.

Can you install at an outer-island property?

We support projects across the BVI, with site visits, equipment delivery and installation schedules agreed around the location and access arrangements.
